You deserve an exceptional life

As parents, we only want the best for our children and we wish we could project our wisdom and life experience into your minds to help you avoid the mistakes and mishaps that we experienced growing up.
In this new world we currently find ourselves in, you will be inundated with advice from adults and schools encouraging you to chase your dreams and believe in yourself blah blah blah......and we as adults have to be mindful of not forcing you into doing the opposite. It IS a fine line.
So for what its worth, I have had a lifetime of proof that it is possible to create a better world for yourself and it is through believing that you deserve an exceptional life and are prepared to do whatever it takes to give yourself that life that you will set yourself apart from the rest.

This video summarises everything we should know to focus and create our dream. It delivers most scenarios that could possibly crop up. All the barriers and resistance, mistakes and the realisation that others will let you down. DON"T let these STOP you from creating the life that you want. Even if it takes years rather than months. Just remember - You deserve it?

Give yourself a moment

Mooloolaba Beach, Sunshine Coast QLD

I recently took a couple of hours out of my busy schedule to stop and grab a coffee at the beach. It was a magnificent spring day. Whilst I was sitting on the rock wall I noticed what looked like rocks just past the breakers with waves gently breaking over the top. That was until these rocks started putting on a performance.  To my absolute delight it turned out to be a mother and calf whale. I was so excited and immediately felt enormous gratitude for this fantastic moment. I must of looked like such a goose laughing to myself and wanted to shout out to the whole beach about the whales. AND then I noticed! No-one else was stopping to notice this magical moment. There were people exercising and others making their way to work and everyone looked so focused just wanting to get from A to B. Some of them obviously noticed me and stopped to see what attracted my attention but still seemed to take the experience for granted. What happened to US?
Sadly, I am guilty of exactly the same thing. I even argued with myself about taking the time out as there were so many other things I could have been doing.  We get so caught up in life that we deprive ourselves of creating these memorable moments which I will now always remember.

I gave myself that time and I am so thankful I did.  You should to... :)

  • Stop and ALLOW yourself time to FEEL these windows of happiness.
  • Never take these moments for granted. They are given to us to help make a difference to our day
  • Appreciate and be GRATEFUL. It is so worth it

Take a moment

Here is a beautiful video reminding us to just STOP. Make time everyday, even if it is only for 5 minutes to go outside, close your eyes and take in everything around you. Be surprised by the sounds of nature, the chorus from the birds or the noise that a breeze makes rustling through the trees. Just STOP and surrender yourself for 5 minutes.
Give yourself this gift of time.

I promise you will feel good!

Inspirational video

This is a video that will make you feel good and remind you to take the time to be you. It is a reminder of the things we need to have in our life and take the time to appreciate.

Enjoy!

Simple times

I remember as a child when I use to get caught in the rain in summer and I just loved it.
When I walked home from school, I had to walk along the main road for about a km with huge trucks speeding past.  When it was raining I use to walk as close to the curb as safely possible so that the splash from the trucks hitting the puddles would soak me. I remember running and jumping into deep mud puddles and laughing. It was FREEDOM in its simplest form.
I wasn't worried about what my hair looked like or if my uniform got wrinkled (that was mum's problem) or even what people thought and trust me there were plenty of disapproving looks going on.
There was no-one to impress. Just myself and nature

This was a time when life was simple. Simple needs, simple fun and simple joys.

I love this image as it reminds me of that simple Time!

Sometimes we just need to stop and remember to have some fun and forget what others think

Enjoy Life!

True Story

A 50-something year old Muslim man arrived at his seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to an elderly white woman reading her Bible.
Disgusted, the Muslim man immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The man said "I cannot sit here next to this infidel." The flight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat."
After checking, she returned and stated "There are no more seats in economy, but I will check with my Cabin Manager and see if there is something in first class."
About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "Unfortunately she has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one available seat in first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be incorrect of us to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, my Manager has agreed to make the switch to first class."
Before the irate Muslim man could say anything, the attendant gestured to the elderly woman and said, "Therefore madam, if you would kindly gather your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as we do not want you to sit next to an unpleasant person."
Passengers in the seats nearby began to applaud while some gave a standing ovation.

The law of the Garbage Truck

A Client of mine sent this story to me at work.
I thought it was fantastic and Yes, I am working towards learning this lesson

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of the parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded and missed the other car by just inches!. The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.   My Taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really nice and friendly.

So I asked "why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital"?

This is where I learned what I now call "The Law of the garbage truck".

My taxi driver explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger and full of disappointment.

As their garbage piles up they need a place to dump it and sometimes they will dump it on you.

Don't take it personally!!!

Just smile, wave, wish them well and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's to short to wake up in the morning with regrets.

SO.... Love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't
Life is 10% what you make it
and 90% how you take it!

Have a fantastic garbage free day :)

The other side of the coin

I found this on the internet and loved it.
Thought it very appropriate for looking at our life from a different perspective

I have referenced the site here: http://www.thylacineslair.com/MindsRetreat.htm

The Other Side of the Coin
I am thankful....
For the taxes that I pay,
Because it means that I am employed.
For the mess to clean after a party,
Because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
For a lawn that needs mowing,
Windows that need cleaning,
And gutters that need fixing,
Because it means that I have a home.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot,
Because it means I am capable of walking
And that I have been blessed with transportation.
Or my huge heating bill
Because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in church that sings off key,
Because it means that I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing,
Because it means I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day,
Because it means I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours,
Because it means that I am alive.
And finally.......
For all the e-mails I receive each day,
Because it means I have friends who think of me
In places far away and near.

Bullying

This video is so genuine and moving…. Ellen Degeneres speaks out on bullying

Until we create more happy people in this world things will be difficult to change. BUT Everyone of us are capable of creating happiness in our own little universe and as long as we ensure that all the people around us are happy and safe then hopefully this will send a ripple to expand out into the bigger universe. Our own little universe is not perfect but then no world is. When I look amongst my friends I see that all of us have everything we need to be grateful. We are all surounded by people that love us warts and all. So we are lucky.  There is NOT one person on this earth that doesn't have quirks and faults and EVERYONE on this earth was born with the right to feel happy and safe.
No parent should lose a child and no child should feel so alone. It is senseless.

So next time you see someone who is just that little bit different from YOUR perception of normal, don’t judge them or harass them. Smile and Let them be. They deserve it and YOU CAN make a difference.

Cheers

Donate Life week

This week in Australia is "Donate Life week".
http://www.donatelife.gov.au/resources/donatelife-week-2013

This is a fantastic cause and is quick and easy to do. Donating doesnt have to be just about organ donation. Other organisations to consider are blood donation and bone marrow donation.

I have had ther privilige of being a blood donor for most of my adult life and one night whilst giving blood I  registered as a bone marrow donor. Ten years later I got a letter saying I had matched with another human being who required my bone marrow. I attended the clinic in Sydney and for a few hours of discomfort, I got to help save someones life. Millions of children worldwide are losing their parents and many families are burying their children because there are not enough people registering with these organisations. Blood donation is vitally important as well and very simple. I'm so proud of  my teenage children who have become blood donors.
I have attached the links here so go on and have a look.

It really is worthwhile :)
